Simplicity is our ally!

If you ever keep track of your own productivity you will most likely find that it is when you stay on task that you get the most done.  Well, duh!  I know, this sounds like all out common sense.  But we often are blind to how much we get off track when we are working on a task.  Whether we over focus on unimportant details or spend half our time trying to wade through the clutter to find things, how complex our physical and mental lives are plays a great role in how efficiently we can get things done.

Often times we complicate things by trying to “improve” or “upgrade” something.  Not to say that there isn’t a time to do these things but, I know for myself, I tend to jump the gun.  You can find yourself spending all your time trying to figure out the new system or adjusting to the differences you’ve brought into the equation.  Then, once you’ve finished catching back up and are ready to get back to the REAL task at hand, you look back on the situation and realize how much you could have accomplished had you just kept on truck’n without letting yourself get sidetracked.  Like I said, there are certainly times that REQUIRE you to make some changes, but I know from experience that very often we are just wasting time; and wasting time is like poison to your motivation.  If motivation feeds off of moving in a positive direction, than you can understand why wasting time is something we have to avoid at all costs.

As you can see I’m a fan of simplicity and I intend to go further into the subject in later posts. I just wanted to point out that if you want to be a self motivated, successful person you should really take a hard look at this thing we call SIMPLICITY!
