@Matt: I really like your wording in your comment. There's no doubt that we need to rainy days to be able to get the most out of the sunshine. The key is always perspective and gratitude. The second we feel we are OWED anything at all, is the moment we will no appreciate life. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Eric

This a great post. Personal stories are always the most powerful. There are so many different ways to get discouraged throughout the day. Yet without those discouraging events the goal accomplished would not be as sweet. Nor would we have seen the areas of growth revealed by them.

Thanks!

@Sara: I'm glad you enjoyed the message.

Yes, Sean Platt of Writer Dad started doing it a few weeks back and called it Dejavuesday (I think I spelled that wrong), so I started doing the same and call it Thursday Rewind. It kills two birds with one stone: It gives me a bit of a break and it allows me to showcase some older stuff that most of you have never seen or would never see otherwise. Eric

Eric,

Great post! I like the reminder to be flexible. If your path is blocked, explore another....you never know what you might find!

I also learned something new from you. It's great to know you can use a post from your archives, especially one with this kind of powerful message.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot for this entry. I have been looking forward to hosting my own blog from blogspot to Wordpress.org. But for searching for the most popular and best web hosting plans, I found it difficult. Your entry has eased the pain.

Thanks for this post, Eric!
"To try and turn some lemons into lemonade" - don't let yourself be frustrated, but think, what can be done with the situation actively. I am having my difficulties with this approach (I hate it when things don't go as I plan them), but I am working on it, and your post reminds me of keeping on working on it.
